F-Droid gets its biggest update in a decade with new UI and smoother app installs

Ars Technica

F-Droid is an Android app store for free and open-source software. Version 2.0 is rebuilt in Kotlin Compose and uses Google's pre-approval API, so you confirm an install before the download starts instead of opening a file and clicking past a sideloading warning. It can now update apps on its own and warns you if an app's signing key changes, a sign it may not come from the same developer.
