Using this site

HowTechMoves is a free site that explains how technology works. By using the site you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Our content and intellectual property

The explainers, written breakdowns, design and original artwork on this site belong to HowTechMoves. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with a link back. Please ask before republishing anything longer, and do not re-upload our videos or copy them in bulk.

Product names, company names and logos that appear in our explainers belong to their owners and are used only to identify the technology being explained. If you believe we are using your work incorrectly, contact us and we will act on it promptly.

News summaries and third-party content

Our news feed summarises technology news reported by other outlets. Each summary is written in our own words, focuses on how the technology works, and links to the original source. The underlying reporting belongs to those sources, and we do not claim it as our own.

News changes quickly, and summaries can become outdated or inaccurate as stories develop. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or currentness of third-party news, and you should always check the linked original source before relying on a story. Nothing in the news feed is financial, legal or professional advice.

HowTechMoves may publish sponsored explainers — videos or breakdowns created with a company, or that feature a product. Sponsored content is clearly labelled as such. Sponsorship never changes what we explain or how accurately we explain it; a company that sponsors an explainer does not get to edit the explanation.

Some links may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. We only link to products or services we have looked at; a link is not a guarantee or an endorsement of everything that provider does. Any purchase you make is between you and that provider, on their terms.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • send spam, false information or misleading enquiries through our forms;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security of the site;
  • scrape or copy the site in bulk in a way that slows it down for other visitors;
  • misrepresent the site or pass its content off as your own.

Accuracy and no warranty

We work hard to keep the explainers accurate and the news summaries faithful to their sources, but the site is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that every explanation is complete, that every summary is current, or that the site will always be available or error-free.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on information on the site, from the products or services of third parties we link to, from the accuracy of third-party news, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms will be resolved in the courts of Trinidad and Tobago.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the site grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. Questions go to the contact form.
