Microsoft stops insisting you need a "Copilot+ PC"

Ars Technica

An NPU is a part of the processor built to run AI math on the device itself, rated in trillions of operations per second, or TOPS. Microsoft's Copilot+ label marked Windows PCs with an NPU of at least 40 TOPS, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Its new Surface laptops have an 80 TOPS NPU yet skip the label, and an IDC analyst says interest in AI PCs has faded because cloud AI is widely available.
